North Carolina High School Softball - Alleghany can't get by North Stokes

In Thursday's league contest, the North Stokes Vikings (Danbury, NC) softball team held off the visiting Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC), by a margin of 5-4.

With the triumph, North Stokes moves its record to 3-14 on the year. The Vikings host East Wilkes (Ronda, NC) to play the Cardinals in a Northwest 1A contest on Friday, April 21. The Cardinals come into the contest with a record of 17-3. East Wilkes won 18-5 in their recent league contest against Alleghany (Sparta, NC)

In their next game, the Trojans play the Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC) in a Northwest 1A contest, on Friday, April 21. Alleghany will attempt to move on its 0-17 season record. The Buckin' Elks come into the contest with a 8-7 record after their 5-4 non-league loss to East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC).
