Starmount Rams (Boonville, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Mount Airy Granite Bears (Mount Airy, NC), 16-2 in a league challenge.

The Rams now own a 3-5 record. They take the field next when they host Elkin for a Northwest 1A challenge on Friday, March 24. Starmount will face a Buckin' Elks squad coming off a 6-2 league win over North Stokes (Danbury, NC). The Buckin' Elks record now stands at 4-3.

With the loss, Mount Airy falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Granite bears host Walkertown (Walkertown, NC) to face the Wolfpack in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 23. The Wolfpack enter the challenge with a record of 4-3. Walkertown won 19-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Mount Tabor (Winston-Salem, NC)
