The Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) baseball nipped the visiting South Brunswick Cougars (Southport, NC), 3-2 in Thursday's league contest.
Coming up next, the Pirates play the Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A contest, on Tuesday, March 26. Topsail will attempt to better on its 5-3 season record. The Vikings enter the contest with a 10-1 record after their 4-0 non-league win over Purnell Swett (Pembroke, NC).
The Cougars now sport a 5-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Brunswick for a Mideastern 3A/4A contest on Tuesday, March 26. South Brunswick will play a Scorpions squad coming off a 2-1 league loss to New Hanover (Wilmington, NC). The Scorpions record now stands at 5-3.
