The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Purvis Tornadoes (Purvis, MS) and the host Picayune Maroon Tide (Picayune, MS), observed Purvis's softball team get by Picayune by a tally of 6-5.

The Tornadoes (12-5) will now prepare for their bout against West Harrison (Gulfport, MS). The Hurricanes go into the non-league bout with a 5-11 record.

In their next game, the Maroon Tide clash with the Long Beach Bearcats (Long Beach, MS) in a 6A Region 4 bout, on Tuesday, March 25. Picayune will attempt to advance on its 7-9 season record. The Bearcats go into the bout with a 4-8 record after their 13-12 league loss to Pascagoula (Pascagoula, MS).
