The South Caldwell Spartans softball team scored 18 runs and limited the host Watauga Pioneers to 0 in the Spartans league triumph on Tuesday.

With the triumph, South Caldwell improves its record to 4-0 on the year. The Spartans host Freedom (Morganton, NC) to clash with the Patriots in a Northwestern 3A/4A game on Friday, March 25. The Patriots come into the game with a record of 2-7. Freedom lost 3-2 in their recent non-league game against West Caldwell (Lenoir, NC)

In their next game, the Pioneers clash with the McDowell Titans (Marion, NC) in a non-league game, on Thursday, March 24. Watauga will attempt to improve on its 1-8 season record. The Titans come into the game with a 5-3 record after their 3-0 league loss to North Buncombe (Weaverville, NC).
