South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC), 14-0 in a league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 9-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Freedom for a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge on Tuesday, April 12. South Caldwell will battle a Patriots squad coming off a 10-0 league loss to Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 2-13.

With the loss, Watauga falls to 3-14 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC) to battle the Cougars in a Northwestern 3A/4A challenge on Tuesday, April 12. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 15-1.
