New Bern Bears (New Bern, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Northside - Jacksonville Monarchs (Jacksonville, NC), 20-2 in a league challenge.
The Bears now own a 5-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to J.H. Rose for a Big East 3A/4A challenge on Tuesday, March 29.
With the loss, Northside - Jacksonville falls to 0-8 on the campaign. The Monarchs host White Oak (Jacksonville, NC) to battle the Vikings in a non-league challenge on Monday, March 28. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 0-7.
