Ruston Bearcats (Ruston, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Evangel Christian Academy Eagles (Shreveport, LA), 17-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Bearcats now own a 15-10 record. They take the field next when they host Pineville for a 5A District 2 challenge on Tuesday, March 26. Ruston will battle a Rebels squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Grace Christian (Alexandria, LA). The Rebels record now stands at 11-11.

With the loss, Evangel Christian Academy falls to 8-17 on the campaign. The Eagles host Caldwell Parish (Columbia, LA) to battle the Spartans in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 26. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 15-8.
