Berkeley Yellowjackets (Berkeley, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Piedmont Highlanders (Piedmont, CA), 11-8 in a league challenge.

The Yellowjackets now own a 3-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Saint Mary's for a non-league challenge on Monday, March 27. Berkeley will battle a Panthers squad coming off a 11-6 non-league win over De Anza (El Sobrante, CA). The Panthers record now stands at 3-3.

With the loss, Piedmont falls to 2-2 on the campaign. The Highlanders host Arroyo (San Lorenzo, CA) to battle the Dons in a West Alameda County - Foothill challenge on Tuesday, March 28.
