Southern Wayne Saints (Dudley, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Smithfield-Selma Spartans (Smithfield, NC), 26-1 in a league challenge.

The Saints now own a 5-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Fike for a Quad County 3A challenge on Tuesday, March 28. Southern Wayne will face a Demons squad coming off a 10-6 league loss to East Wake (Wendell, NC). The Demons record now stands at 1-9.

With the loss, Smithfield-Selma falls to 0-12 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to C.B. Aycock (Pikeville, NC) to face the Golden Falcons in a Quad County 3A challenge on Tuesday, March 28. The Golden Falcons enter the challenge with a record of 5-4. C.B. Aycock lost 12-0 in their recent league challenge against West Johnston (Benson, NC)
