Spectators at Friday's league match between the Brevard Blue Devils (Brevard, NC) and the visiting R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC), witnessed Brevard's softball squad tip R-S Central by a count of 7-6.

The Blue Devils now sport a 6-3 record. They play next when they travel to Patton for a Mountain Foothills Seven 2A match on Tuesday, March 29. Brevard will meet a Panthers squad coming off a 13-2 non-league win over Avery County (Newland, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 6-1.

With the loss, R-S Central moves to 5-5 on the season. The Hilltoppers host East Rutherford (Forest City, NC) to meet the Cavaliers in a Mountain Foothills Seven 2A match on Tuesday, March 29. The Cavaliers go into the match with a record of 9-1. East Rutherford won 11-4 in their recent league match against Chase (Forest City, NC)
