Rice Bulldogs (Rice, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Kemp Yellowjackets (Kemp, TX), 18-11 in a league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 6-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Eustace for a 3A Region III District 18 challenge on Tuesday, March 29. Rice will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 15-1 league loss to Blooming Grove (Blooming Grove, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 13-7.

With the loss, Kemp falls to 0-7 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets host Malakoff (Malakoff, TX) to face the Tigers in a 3A Region III District 18 challenge on Tuesday, March 29. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 7-8. Malakoff lost 4-1 in their recent league challenge against Mildred (Corsicana, TX)
