The crowd at Tuesday's league battle between the West Carteret Patriots (Morehead City, NC) and the host Croatan Cougars (Newport, NC), saw West Carteret's baseball team beat Croatan by a margin of 10-6.

The Patriots (5-4) will now prepare for their battle against Swansboro (Swansboro, NC). The Pirates enter the Coastal 3A challenge with a 4-4 record. In their last challenge, Swansboro nipped White Oak (Jacksonville, NC), 10-7, in a league challenge.

With the defeat, Croatan drops to 4-3 on the year. The Cougars host Dixon (Holly Ridge, NC) to clash with the Bulldogs in a Coastal 3A challenge on Friday, March 28. The Bulldogs go into the challenge with a record of 4-5. Dixon won 5-0 in their recent league challenge against Richlands (Richlands, NC)
