Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA) fans were thrilled Tuesday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the host Alleghany Cougars (Covington, VA), 8-0 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Governors confront the Dan River Wildcats (Ringgold, VA) in a Dogwood challenge, on Friday, April 12. Nelson County will attempt to better on its 3-4 season record.

The Cougars now have a 0-3 record. They play next when they host James River for a Three Rivers test on Wednesday, April 3. Alleghany will meet a Knights squad coming off a 1-0 non-league loss to Northside (Roanoke, VA). The Knights record now stands at 1-1.
