In Thursday's non-league game, the host Independence Tigers baseball team scored a nice 11-1 victory over the West St. John Rams.
The Tigers (10-8) will now prepare for their game against St. Thomas Aquinas (Hammond, LA). The Falcons enter the 2A District 9 game with a 10-14 record. In their last game, St. Thomas Aquinas was overwhelmed by Pope John Paul II (Slidell, LA), 3-1, in a league game.
Next, the Rams face the Holden Rockets (Holden, LA) in a non-league game, on Saturday, March 29. West St. John will attempt to improve on its 2-8 season record. The Rockets enter the game with a 15-5 record after their 1-0 non-league win over St. Helena College and Career Academy (Greensburg, LA).
