North Carolina High School Softball - Mitchell drops to Draughn

March 27, 2025: Bakersville, NC 28705

Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC) supporters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad topple the host Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC), 19-7 in a league game.

With the triumph, Draughn improves its record to 9-1 on the year. The Wildcats host Owen (Black Mountain, NC) to face the Warhorses in a Western Highlands 1A/2A game on Tuesday, April 1. The Warhorses enter the game with a record of 6-2.

The Mountaineers now hold a 4-6 record. They play next when they host Erwin for a non-league game on Friday, March 28. Mitchell will face a Warriors squad coming off a 11-0 league loss to McDowell (Marion, NC). The Warriors record now stands at 4-3.
