Next, the Vikings confront the Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC) in a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge, on Wednesday, March 30. Avery County will attempt to better on its 4-1 season record. The Patriots enter the challenge with a 4-2 record after their 10-1 league win over Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC).

The Wildcats now have a 0-3 record. They take the field next when they host Mitchell for a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge on Wednesday, March 30. Draughn will confront a Mountaineers team coming off a 4-0 league loss to Owen (Black Mountain, NC). The Mountaineers record now stands at 0-2.
