Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC) fans were thrilled Monday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Wildcats face the Corvian Community Cardinals (Charlotte, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, May 19. Draughn will attempt to better on its 5-7 season record. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a 8-7 record after their 6-3 non-league win over Starmount (Boonville, NC).

The Vikings now have a 8-7 record.
