North Carolina High School Softball - Ashe County bounces Freedom

March 28, 2023: Morganton, NC 28655

Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), 18-5 in a league challenge.

The Huskies now sport a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they host East Wilkes for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 30. Ashe County will face a Cardinals squad coming off a 16-0 league win over North Stokes (Danbury, NC). The Cardinals record now stands at 9-2.

With the loss, Freedom falls to 2-8 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to East Burke (Connelly Springs, NC) to face the Cavaliers in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 29. The Cavaliers enter the challenge with a record of 5-4. East Burke lost 12-7 in their recent league challenge against West Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC)
