Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Bland County Bears (Rocky Gap, VA), 9-6 in a league challenge.

The Maroon Tide now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Graham for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 29. Galax will battle a G-Men squad coming off a 16-0 league loss to Richlands (Richlands, VA). The G-Men record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, Bland County falls to 1-4 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Rural Retreat (Rural Retreat, VA) to battle the Indians in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 3. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 4-2.
