Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Bland County Bears (Rocky Gap, VA), 19-12 in a league challenge.

The Maroon Tide now own a 4-4 record. They take the field next when they host George Wythe for a Mountain Empire challenge on Tuesday, April 25.

With the loss, Bland County falls to 1-10 on the campaign. The Bears host Narrows (Narrows, VA) to battle the Green Waves in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 25. The Green Waves enter the challenge with a record of 0-8. Narrows lost 26-3 in their recent league challenge against Parry McCluer (Buena Vista, VA)
