South Point Red Raiders (Belmont, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Ashbrook Greenwave (Gastonia, NC), 17-4 in a league challenge.

The Red Raiders now own a 3-5 record. They take the field next when they host Forestview for a Big South 3A challenge on Wednesday, March 30. South Point will face a Jaguars squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Crest (Shelby, NC). The Jaguars record now stands at 6-4.

With the loss, Ashbrook falls to 0-6 on the campaign. The Greenwave travel to Kings Mountain (Kings Mountain, NC) to face the Mountaineers in a Big South 3A challenge on Friday, April 1. The Mountaineers enter the challenge with a record of 4-5. Kings Mountain lost 3-2 in their recent league challenge against Stuart W. Cramer (Belmont, NC)
