The crowd at Wednesday's non-league match between the McMichael Phoenix (Mayodan, NC) and the host Rockingham County Cougars (Wentworth, NC), saw McMichael's softball squad nip Rockingham County by a count of 6-0.

The Phoenix now sport a 12-0 record. They take the field next when they host Southern Alamance for a non-league match on Thursday, March 30. McMichael will face a Patriots squad coming off a 9-3 non-league win over Randleman (Randleman, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 8-2.

With the loss, Rockingham County falls to 7-2 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Southern Guilford (Greensboro, NC) to face the Storm in a Mid-State 3A match on Friday, March 31. The Storm enter the match with a record of 8-2. Southern Guilford won 10-0 in their recent non-league match against Cornerstone Charter (Greensboro, NC)
