The Austin Black Bears (Decatur, AL) softball nipped the host Bob Jones Patriots (Madison, AL), 4-3 in Thursday's league bout.
The Black Bears (6-2) will now prepare for their bout against Hatton (Town Creek, AL). The Hornets go into the non-league bout with a 4-3 record. In their last bout, Hatton held off Russellville (Russellville, AL), 7-0, in a non-league bout.
The Patriots now possess a 2-3 record. They play next when they travel to Florence for a 7A Area 8 bout on Tuesday, March 8.
