Friendswood Mustangs (Friendswood, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Katy Tigers (Katy, TX), 3-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 9-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ridge Point for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 4. Friendswood will battle a Panthers squad coming off a 13-3 league win over George Ranch (Richmond, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 11-4.

With the loss, Katy falls to 18-3 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Dobie (Houston, TX) to battle the Longhorns in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 3. The Longhorns enter the challenge with a record of 10-5. Dobie won 13-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Clear Brook (Friendswood, TX)
