Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders (Chula Vista, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Poway Titans (Poway, CA), 8-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Crusaders now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to El Camino for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 4. Mater Dei Catholic will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 8-3 non-league loss to Mission Hills (San Marcos, CA). The Wildcats record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Poway falls to 2-1 on the campaign. The Titans travel to Valhalla (El Cajon, CA) to battle the Norsemen in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 4. The Norsemen enter the challenge with a record of 2-0. Valhalla won 7-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Ramona (Ramona, CA)
