Poway Titans (Poway, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders (Chula Vista, CA), 5-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Titans now own a 21-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to San Pasqual for a Palomar North County challenge on Wednesday, May 10. Poway will battle a Golden Eagles squad coming off a 4-3 league loss to La Costa Canyon (Carlsbad, CA). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 10-12.

With the loss, Mater Dei Catholic falls to 14-10 on the campaign. The Crusaders travel to Otay Ranch (Chula Vista, CA) to battle the Mustangs in a Metro Mesa challenge on Tuesday, May 9. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 16-6. Otay Ranch won 13-8 in their recent league challenge against Bonita Vista (Chula Vista, CA)
