The Coronado Mustangs (Lubbock, TX) softball routed the host Monterey Plainsmen (Lubbock, TX), 18-9 in Wednesday's league bout.
The Mustangs (9-5) will now prepare for their bout against Cooper (Lubbock, TX). The Pirates go into the 5A Region I District 4 bout with a 2-5 record. In their last bout, Cooper was routed by Monterey (Lubbock, TX), 6-2, in a league bout.
The Plainsmen now possess a 15-2 record. They play next when they travel to Cooper for a 5A Region I District 4 bout on Friday, April 1. Monterey will confront a Pirates squad coming off a 3-2 league loss to Wylie (Abilene, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 2-4.
