The crowd at Thursday's non-league match between the Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC) and the visiting Thomas Jefferson Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC), saw Draughn's softball squad achieve victory over Thomas Jefferson by a count of 15-0.
The Wildcats now sport a 10-1 record. They take the field next when they host Avery County for a Western Highlands 1A/2A match on Friday, March 31. Draughn will face a Vikings squad coming off a 16-5 league loss to Draughn (Valdese, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 0-4.
With the loss, Thomas Jefferson falls to 0-9 on the campaign. The Gryphons travel to Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC) to face the Yellow Jackets in a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A match on Tuesday, April 4. The Yellow Jackets enter the match with a record of 2-9.
