The crowd at Wednesday's non-league match between the Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC) and the host Thomas Jefferson Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC), saw Draughn's softball squad achieve victory over Thomas Jefferson by a count of 14-1.

The Wildcats now sport a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they host Hibriten for a non-league match on Thursday, March 9. Draughn will clash with a Panthers team coming off a 12-0 non-league loss to Foard (Newton, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 1-1.

The Gryphons (0-2) will now prepare for their test against Burns (Lawndale, NC). The Bulldogs come into the Southern Piedmont 1A/2A test with a 3-1 record. In their last test, Burns was routed by Foard (Newton, NC), 7-6, in a non-league test.
