La Quinta Aztecs (Westminster, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Los Amigos Lobos (Fountain Valley, CA), 17-13 in a league challenge.

The Aztecs now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Loara for a challenge on Tuesday, April 5. La Quinta will battle a Saxons squad coming off a 14-13 league win over Bolsa Grande (Garden Grove, CA). The Saxons record now stands at 4-3.

With the loss, Los Amigos falls to 1-6 on the campaign. The Lobos host Rancho Alamitos (Garden Grove, CA) to clash with the Vaqueros in a game on Tuesday, April 5. The Vaqueros come into the game with a record of 1-1. Rancho Alamitos lost 14-12 in their recent league game against Loara (Anaheim, CA)
