New Hope Indians (New Hope, AL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Kate Duncan Smith DAR Patriots (Grant, AL), 9-5 in a league challenge.

The Indians now sport a 2-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Jackson for a 4A Area 14 challenge on Monday, April 4. New Hope will face a Chiefs squad coming off a 10-0 non-league win over East Hamilton (Ooltewah, TN). The Chiefs record now stands at 14-3.

With the loss, Kate Duncan Smith DAR falls to 7-6 on the campaign. The Patriots host Athens Bible (Athens, AL) to face the Trojans in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 4. The Trojans enter the challenge with a record of 6-3. Athens Bible lost 7-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Hokes Bluff (Hokes Bluff, AL)
