St. Anthony Saints (Long Beach, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mary Star of the Sea Stars (San Pedro, CA), 6-1 in a league challenge.

The Saints now own a 9-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to St. Paul for a Del Rey challenge on Tuesday, April 5. St. Anthony will battle a Swordsmen squad coming off a 6-1 non-league win over Downey (Downey, CA). The Swordsmen record now stands at 12-8.

With the loss, Mary Star of the Sea falls to 9-11 on the campaign. The Stars host Bishop Amat (La Puente, CA) to battle the Lancers in a Del Rey challenge on Tuesday, April 5. The Lancers enter the challenge with a record of 10-8. Bishop Amat lost 9-0 in their recent non-league challenge against South Hills (West Covina, CA)
