The East Surry Cardinals baseball team scored 12 runs and limited the host Wilkes Central Eagles to 0 in the Cardinals league victory on Friday.
The Cardinals (11-3) will now prepare for their match against North Wilkes (Hays, NC). The Vikings go into the Foothills 2A match with a 6-7 record. In their last match, North Wilkes was overwhelmed by West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC), 10-4, in a league match.
The Eagles (1-11) will now prepare for their match against Avery County (Newland, NC). The Vikings go into the non-league match with a 0-9 record. In their last match, Avery County was overwhelmed by Draughn (Valdese, NC), 10-0, in a league match.
