Hallsville Bobcats (Hallsville, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Marshall Mavericks (Marshall, TX), 11-9 in a league challenge.

The Bobcats now own a 10-8 record. They take the field next when they host Pine Tree for a 5A Region II District 15 challenge on Tuesday, April 4. Hallsville will battle a Pirates squad coming off a 8-3 league win over Texas (Texarkana, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 18-8.

With the loss, Marshall falls to 8-14 on the campaign. The Mavericks travel to Whitehouse (Whitehouse, TX) to battle the Wildcats in a 5A Region II District 15 challenge on Tuesday, April 4. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 20-6. Whitehouse won 3-1 in their recent league challenge against Longview (Longview, TX)
