The Newcomb Skyhawks softball team scored 18 runs and limited the visiting Thoreau Hawks to 13 in the Skyhawks non-league triumph on Friday.

With the triumph, Newcomb improves its record to 1-2 on the year. The Skyhawks travel to Shiprock (Shiprock, NM) to clash with the Chieftains in a non-league game on Saturday, April 1. The Chieftains come into the game with a record of 3-5. Shiprock won 9-5 in their recent non-league game against Zuni (Zuni, NM)

In their next game, the Hawks clash with the Laguna Acoma Hawks (New Laguna, NM) in a non-league game, on Monday, April 3. Thoreau will attempt to improve on its 0-3 season record. The Hawks come into the game with a 1-3 record after their 18-0 non-league loss to Kirtland Central (Kirtland, NM).
