The Thoreau Hawks softball team scored 16 runs and limited the host Newcomb Skyhawks to 14 in the Hawks league triumph on Tuesday.

With the triumph, Thoreau improves its record to 2-8 on the year. The Hawks host Navajo Pine (Navajo, NM) to clash with the Warriors in a non-league game on Thursday, April 13. The Warriors come into the game with a record of 5-6. Navajo Pine lost 14-4 in their recent non-league game against Tohatchi (Tohatchi, NM)

In their next game, the Skyhawks clash with the Navajo Prep Eagles (Farmington, NM) in a 3A District 1 game, on Friday, April 14. Newcomb will attempt to improve on its 2-7 season record. The Eagles come into the game with a 8-4 record after their 26-6 league win over Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM).
