In Monday's league game, the host Walnut Ridge Bobcats baseball team scored a nice 13-3 win over the Newport Greyhounds.

The Bobcats (9-6) will now prepare for their game against Piggott (Piggott, AR). The Mohawks go into the non-league game with a 2-8 record. In their last game, Piggott was overwhelmed by Riverside (Lake City, AR), 18-0, in a league game.

Next, the Greyhounds play the Osceola Seminoles (Osceola, AR) in a 3A Region 3 game, on Tuesday, April 1. Newport will attempt to improve on its 8-4 season record. The Seminoles go into the game with a 1-6 record after their 3-3 non-league Forrest City (Forrest City, AR).
