Meridian Wildcats (Meridian, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Laurel Golden Tornadoes (Laurel, MS), 18-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they host Starkville for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 7.

With the loss, Laurel falls to 0-3 on the campaign. The Golden tornadoes host Stone (Wiggins, MS) to battle the Tomcats in a 5A Region 4 challenge on Monday, March 11. The Tomcats enter the challenge with a record of 5-3.
