Ruston Bearcats (Ruston, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Alexandria Trojans (Alexandria, LA), 9-7 in a league challenge.

The Bearcats now own a 10-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pineville for a 5A District 2 challenge on Thursday, March 7. Ruston will battle a Rebels squad coming off a 8-7 league loss to West Monroe (West Monroe, LA). The Rebels record now stands at 5-6.

With the loss, Alexandria falls to 5-9 on the campaign. The Trojans host Ouachita Parish (Monroe, LA) to battle the Lions in a 5A District 2 challenge on Thursday, March 7. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 5-7. Ouachita Parish lost 14-2 in their recent league challenge against West Ouachita (West Monroe, LA)
