Eastland Mavericks (Eastland, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Early Longhorns (Early, TX), 13-8 in a league challenge.

The Mavericks now own a 9-5 record. They take the field next when they host Early for a 3A Region I District 8 challenge on Tuesday, March 5. Eastland will battle a Longhorns squad coming off a 10-2 non-league loss to Anderson-Shiro (Anderson, TX). The Longhorns record now stands at 0-10.
