North Carolina High School Baseball - Patton nips Mitchell

March 5, 2025: Morganton, NC 28655

The Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC) baseball got by the visiting Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC), 6-5 in Wednesday's non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to East Rutherford for a Mountain Foothills 7 1A/2A challenge on Tuesday, March 11. Patton will clash with a Cavaliers team coming off a 11-1 non-league win over Kings Mountain (Kings Mountain, NC). The Cavaliers record now stands at 4-0.

With the defeat, Mitchell drops to 0-2 on the year. The Mountaineers travel to Freedom (Morganton, NC) to clash with the Patriots in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 7. The Patriots go into the challenge with a record of 3-2. Freedom lost 12-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Chase (Forest City, NC)
