The Colony Cougars (The Colony, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lovejoy Leopards (Lucas, TX), 5-2 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rock Hill for a 5A Region II District 10 challenge on Saturday, March 12. The Colony will battle a Blue Hawks squad coming off a 10-0 league win over Sherman (Sherman, TX). The Blue Hawks record now stands at 12-7.

With the loss, Lovejoy falls to 5-9 on the campaign. The Leopards host Wylie East (Wylie, TX) to battle the Raiders in a 5A Region II District 10 challenge on Wednesday, March 9. The Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 9-8. Wylie East won 15-5 in their recent league challenge against Denison (Denison, TX)
