Purvis Tornadoes (Purvis, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Lawrence County Cougars (Monticello, MS), 14-4 in a league challenge.

The Tornadoes now own a 7-1 record. They take the field next when they host Poplarville for a 4A Region 7 challenge on Thursday, March 9. Purvis will battle a Hornets squad coming off a 11-0 non-league loss to George County (Lucedale, MS). The Hornets record now stands at 1-5.

With the loss, Lawrence County falls to 1-4 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Forrest County Agricultural (Brooklyn, MS) to battle the Aggies in a 4A Region 7 challenge on Thursday, March 9. The Aggies enter the challenge with a record of 0-3. Forrest County Agricultural lost 17-4 in their recent league challenge against Sumrall (Sumrall, MS)
