The Ariton Purple Cats softball team scored 15 runs and held the visiting Samson Tigers to 0 in the Purple Cats non-league win on Saturday.

The Purple Cats now own a 8-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Brantley for a non-league test on Monday, March 9. Ariton will meet a Bulldogs squad coming off a 14-3 non-league loss to Pike Liberal Arts (Troy, AL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-2.

The Tigers (0-5) will now prepare for their test against Cottonwood (Cottonwood, AL). The Bears go into the 2A Area 2 test with a 3-3 record. In their last test, Cottonwood was routed by Ashford (Ashford, AL), 6-2, in a non-league test.
