In Friday's non-league contest, the Moapa Valley Pirates (Overton, NV) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Cheyenne Desert Shields (North Las Vegas, NV), by a margin of 23-7.
With the triumph, Moapa Valley moves its record to 2-0 on the year. The Pirates travel to Sunrise Mountain (Las Vegas, NV) to play the Miners in a contest on Tuesday, April 5. The Miners come into the contest with a record of 2-4.
In their next game, the Desert Shields play the Virgin Valley Bulldogs (Mesquite, NV) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, April 7. Cheyenne will attempt to move on its 3-4 season record.
