West Johnston Wildcats (Benson, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Hunt Warriors (Wilson, NC), 14-1 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 8-2 record. They take the field next when they host Southern Wayne for a Quad County 3A challenge on Tuesday, April 5. West Johnston will face a Saints squad coming off a 15-5 non-league win over Eastern Wayne (Goldsboro, NC). The Saints record now stands at 5-5.

With the loss, Hunt falls to 3-7 on the campaign. The Warriors host Smithfield-Selma (Smithfield, NC) to face the Spartans in a Quad County 3A challenge on Tuesday, April 5. The Spartans enter the challenge with a record of 1-7. Smithfield-Selma lost 31-2 in their recent league challenge against C.B. Aycock (Pikeville, NC)
