Spectators at Wednesday's league match between the Newport Cubs (Newport, OR) and the visiting North Marion Huskies (Aurora, OR), witnessed Newport's softball squad tip North Marion by a count of 10-8.

The Cubs now sport a 1-9 record. They play next when they travel to Sweet Home for a 4A Oregon West match on Thursday, April 11. Newport will meet a Huskies squad coming off a 10-0 league loss to Stayton (Stayton, OR). The Huskies record now stands at 1-10.

With the loss, North Marion moves to 1-8 on the season. The Huskies host Cascade (Turner, OR) to meet the Cougars in a 4A Oregon West match on Thursday, April 11. The Cougars go into the match with a record of 7-2.
