The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Pearl Pirates (Pearl, MS) and the host Richland Rangers (Richland, MS), observed Pearl's softball team get by Richland by a tally of 9-5.

The Pirates (14-8) will now prepare for their bout against Brandon (Brandon, MS). The Bulldogs go into the 7A Region 3 bout with a 17-4 record. In their last bout, Brandon was routed by Petal (Petal, MS), 5-1, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Rangers battle the Puckett Wolves (Puckett, MS) in a non-league bout, on Monday, April 14. Richland will attempt to advance on its 4-5 season record.
