Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC), 10-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Red Tornadoes now sport a 4-11 record. They take the field next when they host St. Stephens for a Western Foothills 3A challenge on Tuesday, April 12. Hickory will face a Indians squad coming off a 4-2 league win over North Iredell (Olin, NC). The Indians record now stands at 9-4.

With the loss, Patton falls to 7-7 on the campaign. The Panthers host East Rutherford (Forest City, NC) to face the Cavaliers in a Mountain Foothills Seven 2A challenge on Tuesday, April 12. The Cavaliers enter the challenge with a record of 12-2. East Rutherford won 12-1 in their recent league challenge against Hendersonville (Hendersonville, NC)
